Summertime

This summer has gone by fast for me.  If you ask Anna, it was the longest summer of her life.  She is really excited for school to start, which begins next week.  She claims that she would love year round school without the breaks.  I know better, when she has to keep getting up day after day and going to bed will be the hard part.

A few things that we have spent our time doing have been Ryan's birthday, Eva's birthday, The Dance Family Reunion, The Roberts Family Reunion, attending my Aunt Ruth's Funeral, swimming at the rec center, playing lego star wars video game (Xavier and Isaac), putting up our fence, and enjoying the warm weather.

I have enjoyed the summer, but I am glad that school is coming.  Anna will be in 2nd grade and Xavier will be starting Kindergarten.  I am not quite sure what to do with just Isaac and Eva, but we will figure out something.  I am sure that Isaac will miss them.

New Addition

We have a new addition to our family.  The kids love him.  It's fun to see them react to the kitten.  They named him Shadow.

Hair Cut

I have been feeling a little older lately, so I had to do something drastic.  I cut about 10 inches of hair off!  It was a bit liberating.  I don't think that I have had my hair this short since I have been married.  You won't be able to see the back at all in these photos because I had Xavier take them for me, but you get the idea.

You be the judge...

I am either a fantastic gardner, or an awful housekeeper. You be the judge...
Am I growing socks, which would be awesome because we go through socks about as fast as fruit snacks, or am I just not able to keep up to the speed of Isaac? Oh...and if this helps in your judgement, The sock was in this position for a good week, because I didn't want to disturb its growing cycle.

Crazy Hair Day!

One of my favorite things about public schools is Crazy Hair Day!  Anna is willing to get a little crazy and with me as the hair dresser, this is the outcome.

Snow in May!

I woke up to snow this morning.  I hope our trees are okay.  The snow weighed them down, but I don't see any broken limbs, yet.  And our tomatoes and peppers are not covered, so I don't think that will have a great ending.  The white snow is beautiful, but not as likeable in May.  The kids faces lit up when I suggested we go sledding.

Uncle Tyler!

We loved having Uncle Tyler come and visit.  This picture is Tyler with Duct tape.  He is so creative.  He was making a gun for Isaac, so that he could be Voltron.  For the next hour, Isaac was running around the house making gun noises and shooting everything in his path.  Xavier had a gun, too.  The kids were so happy, it did not even matter that we had to tear off the tape.  Thanks for the entertainment, Tyler.
