We are celebrating Pioneer Day in Utah today. I wanted to add a few thoughts about that. Don't be afraid of the spirituality this post may contain. Embrace it.
"I have felt a close kinship to those early pioneers who crossed the plains. They are my spiritual ancestry, as they are for each and every member of the Church, regardless of nationality, language, or culture. They established not only a safe place in the West but also a spiritual foundation for the building of the kingdom of God in all the nations of the world...we are all pioneers in our own sphere and circumstance...(President Uctdorf, July Ensign 2008)."
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord” (2 Timothy 1:7–8).
