Christmas 2008

Christmas was so fun. Ryan's family always does a big Christmas Eve Dinner, and no, we did not eat donuts for dinner. We do a big fondue dinner with like five different meats, and lots of veggies. It is so good and we always eat too much every year. It is so fun to be together and all of Ryan's family were there this year because Brianna, his sister, got married the week before Christmas.

Some of the events of the evening are dinner, then Rudolph usually comes to drop off pajamas for everyone. We get cozy, sing a few Christmas songs, then Clark reads the scripture version of the Christmas story. This year during the Christmas story, we had the grandkids act it out and it was so fun. Anna didn't want to be Mary because there were no speaking parts. She wanted to be the Angel, the only speaking part. Xavier was Joseph, Mele was Mary, and Isaac and Afu were the shepherd boys keeping watch over Kava and Violet, the sheep. One of the funny parts was when Mary and Joseph were beginning there travels, Xavier got on the donkey before Mary. Then when the angel came to visit the shepherds, we whispered to Isaac to look scared and he got an angry look on his face and attacked the angel (Anna). And then stood in karate-fight mode for the rest of the time.

After the story, we made treats using the donuts and candy. We made a contest out of it. Everyone won within there own categories. Mine looked like a chicken lady. There was an Audrey Hepburn and a Rambo. It was so fun. Here are just a few pictures of the evening.

Xavier's creation.

Xavier was just really excited to eat his creation.

James, Brianna, Angela, Davian, and Danielle in front. They were setting the mood.

This kids were so excited about their pjs.

Xavier doing his tough face, because he is the Hulk.

Isaac in his monkey pjs, the monkey looked just like him, and Isaac acts just like a monkey.

Anna in her pjs and so happy about the robe. She has wanted a robe for like a year. She was jumping up and down. She wondered how Rudolph knew.

I think the doughnut snowmen are such a cool idea. I've never seen them before but think they'd be fun to do. I love X's pjs. and his tough face. I also love that you're updating your blog so much. It's fun to see what you guys are doing.
